First UCI World Champions for E-Bikes Will Take Place In Mont-Saint-Anne
The first ever UCI World Champions for E-Bikes will be placed this year during the 2019 UCI Mountain Bike World Cup. The E-MTB races will take place on August 28th, the opening day of World Cup in Mont-Saint-Anne, Canada. They will racing just after the XC team relay which always starts the UCI’s main mountain bike event of the year.
During the race the riders will have to finish a 7.3km cross-country course in time of 1h30 to 2h.

There are some regulations about the e-bikes that can race during this race, the engine must be only an assistance for the rider, except start-up assistance when speed is lower than 6 km/h.
The engine is allowed to produce maximum a 250 watts of power, providing assistance of no more than 25 km/h. Extra batteries are not allowed during the competition.
